Project Summary
Face the infection or be the infection!
The Germ Crazy New Strain Project is a game development project for the PC initially and other platforms as licensing permits.
Germ Crazy is a successful retro game first published thirty-one years ago that has been reimagined and significantly upgraded with the Unreal toolset.
This Real Time Strategy/Simulation allows the player, via the simulation of the human body, to enter a battlefield between a variety of pathogens and the immune system agents, augmented by various medical technologies. It all creates a challenging syfy warfare game and combines the elements of a classic tower defence, resource-based strategy and a completely new game universe where many existing immunological and biological mechanisms are presented as battle elements against the pathogens.
Germ Crazy is played at multiple levels from the real world down to the cellular level, and will be packed full of detail, high quality graphics and sounds with extensive customisation options and additional content. The project envisages release of a single and multi-player version of the game and several DLCs including a vibrant user community producing a wide range of end user generated content and design.
Germ Crazy will be released on PC but also designed for use on consoles. There will be a range of mobile apps as tools and as windows to game play.
Using a modular games design system where elements can be Using a modular games design system where elements can be added and removed as required it will be possible to configure the game only to include ‘Real’ elements for an educational version. The full range of elements will include near and far future fictional game elements and community created configurations and environments.
The project is in the prototyping phase and a highly skilled and motivated team have been assembled including two out of three of the original development team, several department heads of the widely accredited and acclaimed Fallout London Project as well as the project lead and a couple of highly knowledgeable experts in immunology and cost control to keep the project and design on track.
